Dr. Hoo has a reputation for providing his patients with quality care in St. Petersburg since 1997.
He grew up in the Caribbean and loves the sun, water, and beaches that Florida offers.
He is a true “Gator” as he attended the University of Florida for his Bachelor of Science in Zoology, then graduating from medical school in 1991. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Medical College of Virginia in 1994. He completed his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship in 1997 at Medical College of Virginia where he was a Medical House Officer at Johnston-Willis Hospital and Chippenham Hospital in Richmond.
Dr. Hoo joined the Suncoast Medical Group as a pulmonary/critical care consultant in 1997 and stayed there until 2006. In 2007 he joined Coastal Pulmonary and Critical Care where he is a partner and officer of the group. He is on staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital where he is the Chairman of The Pulmonary Section and the Medical Director of Critical Care. He has also served on the Infection Control Committee, and has served as Chairman of the Quality Improvement Committee. Dr. Hoo is also on staff at Bayfront Medical Center and Kindred Hospital.
Dr. Hoo is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the Pinellas County Medical Association. He is involved in multiple research studies for COPD and Asthma. He was named one of “America’s Top Physicians” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America in 2006.
In his spare time Dr. Hoo enjoys being with his family and is an avid boater and fisherman.
