Dr. D. Andrew Sams joined Coastal Pulmonary and Critical Care in 2006 and provides compassionate and high quality care to his patients. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Georgetown University in 1995 and his Post-Baccalaureate at the University of Connecticut in 2003.
Dr. Sams completed his Fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida 2006.
Dr. Sams is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Sleep Disorders Center at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Sams is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
As a partner of Coastal Pulmonary and Critical Care, Dr. Sams sees patients in the office as well as St. Anthony’s Hospital, Bayfront Medical Center, and Kindred Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is actively involved in clinical research as well.
Dr. Sams is happily married with two children. He enjoys soccer, basketball, and traveling with this family.
