Services

The following services that can be provided on an Outpatient basis:

  • Bronchoscopy allows the doctor to look directly into breathing passages. This is done using a bronchoscope (a thin flexible, hollow, lighted tube that lets the doctor see inside the lung). Biopsy instruments are passed down the middle of the scope. The sample is taken and tested for cancer and other problems.
  • Transbronchial Biopsy (TBB) is a procedure used mainly to biopsy tissue near the airway. This is done using a bronchoscope and tiny forceps or needle. The forceps or needle, are passed through the scope into the airway, and a sample is taken.
  • Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) is a type of bronchoscopy. With EBUS, the lungs and mediastinum (space between the lungs) are looked at using a flexible bronchoscope and ultrasound (images created using sound waves). Ultrasound guides the doctor and allows him or her to see through the airway walls.
  • Navigation Bronchoscopy allows for the physician to reach areas of the lung that were previously “Out of reach” by conventional bronchoscopy. Navigation bronchoscopy utilizes a specialized CT scan of the lung (performed prior to the procedure) and a computerized model so that the physician can navigate to the area of interest in real time. There the physician can take biopsies utilizing forceps, needles, brushes and lavages
  • Pulmonary Function Test (also referred to as plethysmography) is a test that can be performed in our office or in an outpatient setting. This test is used to provide information and evaluation of the capacity of your lungs to the physician. This simple testing procedure will help aid the physician with diagnosing COPD, Asthma, Pulmonary fibrosis and other respiratory conditions. It may also provide insight as to the positive effect of the treatment regimen you are currently receiving.
  • Polysomnography, also known as a Sleep Study is used for Diagnosis and treatment of sleeping disorders which are medical conditions that prevent many patients from getting a good night’s sleep. We have several practitioners that are highly skilled and experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of sleeping disorders including narcolepsy, insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, daytime sleepiness, and many other sleep disorders. If your practitioner finds it necessary for further evaluation, they may recommend you have a sleep study at a sleep center. Sleep disorders that are left untreated can have a significantly detrimental impact on every aspect of your life and health.
  • Digital Chest XRay for digital images of the lungs and surrounding areas in the chest, offered in our office or at many local outpatient facilities
